The Alliance for Community Media, which hosts the Hometown Media Awards — the independent media national recognition — has selected Choose to be Curious as the 2021 Best Community Radio Informational Talk Show Series!
It’s an amazing honor and comes just as I pass the five-year anniversary with the show.
I am, of course, thrilled. Not just for our chosen topic, which I think continues to gain ground as a serious and fascinating topic for exploration, but also because I am such a proud product of Arlington Independent Media, without which none of this would have happened. Take a moment to check out the other winners — it’s a wonderful sampling of the terrific work being done by independent media producers of all sorts, all across the U.S.
You can listen to my submission clips here — three five-minute segments taken from shows that aired between January 1 – December 31, 2020. What a hard choice to pick just three! I tried for a representative mix, but I could have picked at least six other versions of “just three” and been just as happy. I went with Curiosity Studies, Crows, and the intrepid Community College Initiative. I’m endlessly indebted to all the voices that made their way into the clips.
To my many guests and listeners: thank you for joining me on this curiosity adventure!
Congratulations dear one, well earned! Hugs, Jill
